BIOGRAPHY

Born
and raised in Melbourne Australia, Jackson Moon's musical journey began early. His first performances included stints with Moonshine and later in Bullitz. Moon then spent 7 years performing with 50's Rock'n'Roll band Tina & The Tornadoes, during the unexpected, but welcome 50's Rock'n'Roll revival of the 80's. The Tornadoes shared the same bill as his early Rock'n'Roll idols and the experience would influence his future direction. He began producing recordings and demo's for artists in his new studio.

During the 90's, Moon expanded his studio, performed solo and in Axe & Sax, with notable Saxophone player Lachlan Wilson. Axe & Sax evolved into 'Over The Moon', which featured power vocalist (and Jackson's partner) Anita Moon, and included ex Bullitz cohorts Greg Goris and John Cotroneo. Over The Moon, enjoyed considerable success with regular performances at Melbourne's Crown Casino entertainment centre where Jackson also performed with the Tom Jones tribute show and Countdown.

It was in this time that Jackson created side project 'The Fabulous Casino Brothers' with good mate Anthony Hope. The band's sole was mission was to have a good time and to fill occasional gaps between Over The Moon gigs. Though unexpected, the Fabulous Casino Brothers ignited, and with a respectable selling CD enjoyed two successful years.

In 2001, Jackson teamed up with fellow guitarist Richard Doctors in rhythm & blues band 'FunKool'. FunKool allowed Moon and Doctors to cut loose on their instruments. The band's history was short but certainly sweet.

This seemed like a good time to take a break from the grind of gigging and to recharge the batteries. Jackson concentrated on the business side of music until a chance meeting with fellow guitarist Mark Tonelli saw Moon return to recording. The result is the 2008 release ' ... model '59', a collection of 50's of 60's Rock'n'Roll songs from Jackson's grass roots influences.

' ... Model '59  is available through iTunes
